Final Flight
The adventure really has begin, for me. I said goodbye to Silke, Nina and Luca at the airport and spent the next 38hrs in planes and sitting in airports.
Surrounded by many many people wearing face masks somehow believing they’d avoid catching the Corona virus that is tearing around the planet .
A 14hr layover in Doha, apparently the richest nation on the planet wouldnt be right without doing the city tour. Everything was new and looked like they’d run out of things to build . Dropped off at an “authentic” market ..
which was actually really quite new also) with just a few tourist wondering around made me realise , a tourist, is something I didnt want to be.
Back in the Qatar airways jet I headed off over some rather amazing countryside with famous names for all the wrong reasons.. happy to have cleared away without incident!..
Coming in at 6pm into Athens absolutely exhausted, I struggled with my 30kg bag (without wheels) and my ever so slightly over loaded 15kg “carry on” that had gained an extra 8kg since emptying my jacket pockets back into it. Managed to get off the bus at the right stop and make my way to the airbnb. Body clock still in NZ time I was wide awake at 230am. A stroll down at 8am to see our lovely Polly seeing she was looking just fine!
